As housing prices continue to rise and energy costs continue to rise, many are looking for a cheaper alternative to central heating.
And to help, frugal Martin Lewis has recommended a device that costs a few pennies, the Mirror reports. As the weather cools down in the UK this month, this simple product could save you hundreds of pounds a year.
Speaking on Martin Lewis' latest podcast, the expert offers a seven-fold solution to all problems. By investing a little in gadgets, people can save money every day.

Martin suggests households invest in a dehumidifier because it's "usually a lot cheaper" than running a kilowatt-hour of heat. If you consider the cost of the dehumidifier first, having this equipment will result in lower energy costs for many, he explained.
Funder explained on the podcast: “Many humidifiers have different wattages, the one I tried was 200 watts (W).
“Once we know that there are 200 watts and that one kilowatt is equal to 1000 watts, which is the price of electricity, we know that it is five kilowatts.
"And you pay about 34p per kWh. V is 7p, so assuming a 200-watt dehumidifier is running at full power all the time, you're paying 7p an hour to run it. It's cheaper than heat."
"If a humidifier is right for you, it's definitely going to have lower energy costs, but there's an initial investment in actually buying a humidifier and seeing how it works for you."
A dehumidifier that doesn't cost hundreds of dollars is the Argos Challenge 0.5 Liter Mini Humidifier, which has received hundreds of positive reviews from buyers.
A satisfied customer wrote: "I use it in a 3 meter x 4 meter room and it absorbs water a lot. Now there is no mold because I had a small problem before using this product.
I use it for a few hours a day and it doesn't seem to use much electricity. Very easy to set up and use, very easy to empty and very quiet.
Another said: “I bought this moisturizer in December and it's great!
"It is very quiet and only makes a little noise like white noise, which helps me sleep! I am very happy with this product!"
A third said: "I bought it this month and it worked well in my bedroom. No more moisture problems. Very happy with the purchase."
One added: "Does the job. Very small and compact. Quiet. Overall satisfied."
