Creating Playlists For Training And Directing People To The Help They Need

After years of not organizing my YouTube channel, I've spent the last few weeks organizing it into playlists. I did this partly because the lack of organization was driving me crazy, and partly because I was hoping to do some workshops this spring and summer. Maybe you plan to organize them.

Anyone who has led technical training will tell you that it is nearly impossible to anticipate every question and every situation that may arise. Some can be resolved quickly, but others will require follow-up. One way to ensure immediate implementation is to have a resource page with video tutorials.

An easy way to create a video tutorial page is to create multiple playlists on your YouTube account. If you've never done it before, check out this quick guide to learn how to create a playlist. In that regard, here is a guide on how to create a YouTube channel.

Google Sites is another good option for creating learning resource pages. You can quickly embed individual videos or entire YouTube playlists on Google Sites property pages. This video shows how.

Use forms to direct people to the help they need

Directing people to a resources page is a good thing. What's the best way to let them know what videos to watch? Clear titles are a great first step (which is why my videos don't have clicky titles). A great second step is to use Google Forms Microsoft Forms to direct people to the videos they need.

By branching into Microsoft Forms or Google Forms, you can create questions that direct people to different resources based on how they answer the question. Here's a guide on how to do this with Google Forms and here's how to use branching in Microsoft Forms.
