More brown guac for me.
Guacamole might be the best dip ever, and that's coming from a Texan who takes quizzes often. Guac is not only delicious, but also has a certain freshness that makes it more appealing. The only problem is that it doesn't stay fresh for long.
If you've ever stored guacamole in your fridge, you know that it turns from a fragrant green to a deep brown in a matter of hours. But I finally found a solution to this problem: a way to keep my guacamole fresh for up to three days. And it's only $13 on Amazon.

The design of this gadget is surprisingly simple and solves a problem we've been struggling with for years. It is a plastic bowl with a hermetic lid. But make no mistake, this is different than most food containers. Instead of tightening, the lid sinks into the container. That is, when the pot is full, the lid is up, but when it only contains a small glove, the lid is down.
The jar itself has a 4-cup capacity, holds four to five avocado guacamole depending on the brand, and I've seen it hold up to 6 cups of guacamole. It's also dishwasher safe, so after you make your guacamole, you can pop it in the dishwasher for easy cleanup.
It just works. By pushing the container, the lid creates pressure and releases all the air in the container. Somehow the vacuum seals the guacamole, ensuring that there is no oxygen in the container.
Since the lid does not lift, it is not a good idea to invert this container. However, it serves its purpose well. This prevents the guacamole from oxidizing and keeps the flavor fresh.
To use, I made a mound of guacamole and then covered it. Spread the guacamole evenly and slightly on top. But I found it easier to clean with a towel.
After four days, I noticed that my guacamole had turned brown. But I was fine. It lasts much longer than regular guacamole. Within a day it is spoiled or completely eaten.
But there is a downside to note. No, I repeat, do not cover. Since there's no way to scrape off the bottom lid, you have to pierce it with a fork, which can be a real struggle.
Other than that this thing is pure magic. If you're a guac lover, say goodbye to brown guac and add this $13 bowl to your kitchen today.
At the time of publication, the price was $13.
