Weekend Poll: What Was Your Favorite Gadget At MWC 2023?

Weekend Poll: What Was Your Favorite Gadget At MWC 2023?

From new foldable to drivable concepts, this show has it all.

Last week at this year's Mobile World Congress, Android Police looked for the smartphones you'll be carrying in your pocket for the next few months. What we found is an interesting combination of improved iterations of existing toolkits and new ideas that will continue to propel the industry forward for years to come.

Personally, nothing is more fun using Motorola's spinning concept phone, now called the Rizr. I have major doubts about Moto's entry here, but that doesn't mean my gadget fanatic isn't happy to see a phone change in the palm of my hand. While I don't think the video is ready for prime time, it was great to see the company take the baton from beloved LG.

Speaking of concept phones, OnePlus is also releasing devices with new technologies that may actually be available in retail stores. The OnePlus 11 concept combines None-LED lighting with Active CryoFlux technology to cool the phone, which is said to boost gaming and charging performance.

Honor made a big impression at this event with the foldable Magic Vs and Magic 5 Pro. We were very impressed with the Honor foldable phone, which offers great battery life and performance, and a better hinge than what Samsung uses in its Fold range. Meanwhile, the Magic 5 Pro is the company's flagship phone for 2023, and while we won't be launching it in the US, its specs and overall sleek design are impressive.

And let's not forget the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro. AP's Manuel Wonau spent some time with the 13 Pro ahead of the official announcement and was impressed with the camera's 1-inch sensor. Much like the Honor program, we won't see this in the United States, but with any luck, manufacturers like Samsung and Google will be encouraged to push camera tech to compete globally.

Personally, I'd love to try Motorola Bullitt's Defy Satellite Link this summer because of its ability to add satellite connectivity to any phone. And hey, of course those weren't the only five gadgets we stunned on the show, so it's worth checking out our Best of MWC award if you haven't already.
